SCHOOL CLERKING TEAM LEADER •

Hours: 30 hours per week • 45 weeks per year (including 17 days paid holidays plus bank holidays)  

Salary: £31,500 plus benefits & travel costs (equivalent to £47,252 for FT role)  

Location: London and South East

Judicium Education is School Services Company assisting all types of schools with support services such as HR, finance, health and safety, payroll, school improvement and clerking.   

As part of our expansion, we are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced school clerk both to provide clerking services to our school clients and to act as Team Leader for our small clerking team.   

The person in the role will report directly to the department head.  He/she will be responsible for allocation of schools to clerks and be expected to attend governing body meetings him/herself 2-4 times per week.  Meetings take place during the daytime and evenings as required by the particular schools.    

The successful candidate will have the flexibility to complete administrative work from home, though there will be a requirement to occasionally attend the Judicium offices in London for meetings with the Department Head and for training. 

The role involves: 

As Team Leader: 

Administering diaries of clerking team and allocating schools to particular clerks  

Keeping up to date with all matters related to governance and cascading that information to other clerks on a termly basis   •

Ensuring a high quality consistent service across the clerking team 

Supporting the Department Head to produce annual clerk training and termly Governing Body updates  

Advising governing bodies on procedural and constitutional matters related to school governance  

Providing cover for other school clerks when required 

As Governing Body Clerk:

Administering governing meetings by co-ordinating, drafting and circulating agenda and minutes  

Maintaining school records including governing body constitution, appointments, terms of office, committee memberships, specialist roles and pecuniary interests  

Attendance at governing body meeting and Committee meetings as requested  

This is a part time position consisting of 30 hours week for 45 weeks per year (including 17 days paid holiday).  A typical working week may consist of attendance on 3-4 days at school governing meetings with 1-2 days set aside for paperwork.   

The role is suitable for those seeking employment (not suitable for self-employed).  Flexibility over hours is essential as some school governing bodies sit during the day whilst others sit in the evening.
