The King Fahad Academy is an independent International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and the only Islamic school in the UK authorised to offer the IBO programmes. We provide a bilingual international education with an Islamic ethos to students aged 3-19 years. The Job: School Counsellor (Maternity Cover)
The School Counsellor will provide a counselling service to the pupils and staff of The King Fahad Academy. The school counsellor will contribute to the well-being of students and to their development to be productive citizens in society. He/she will work with school staff to help students develop in a holistic way through personal, social, emotional, career and academic strengths. The successful candidate will have an office for their use.
We are looking for a School Counsellor who has:
• Degree level (or higher) qualification as a counsellor/therapist
• Training and experience in working with children and young people
• An understanding of child development
• Awareness of mental health needs of children and young people
• Communication skills
School Counsellor will operate within the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions of BACP or similar recognised professional association.
This is a challenging role and you must be able to cope with stressful interpersonal situations whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
