Job overview

We have a position, for a 0.4 FTE to work two days a week (term time 40 weeks pa), for a Student Counsellor to join the Counselling Services team within Park View School. You will be a member of the student counselling team offering, short term and long-term counselling participating in the delivery of a therapeutic support for students age 11 - 16. 

We are a Trauma Informed School; the role also involves working with other school staff using the Trauma Informed Approach to help provide a supportive learning environment for all our students. 

You will hold a Postgraduate Diploma or Masters in Counselling/Psychotherapy, trained to BACP level of accreditation or equivalent. You will be a member of the BACP or equivalent. You will be an experienced professional who is able to demonstrate flair, flexibility and self-confidence. You will have the proven ability to provide short and long term counselling and with experience of working within a school setting. You will have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills and proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

We are particularly keen to receive applications from male counsellors as these are currently under-represented in our team.

The post holder will be required to work on set days, Monday and Tuesday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.
