We are searching for a part-time School Counsellor to join us on 1 September 2022 on a permanent basis.

We are looking for:

Someone to contribute to the improvement in outcomes for children and young people by ensuring that the needs of children and their families are identified within the school environment at an early stage and supported.

You will help address issues such as attendance and behaviour within school and provide support on an individual basis, ensuring that the appropriate services are provided or referral to other services is facilitated. You will provide appropriate counselling support for students to meet their needs whilst managing a triage system that ensures needs are met in a priority order.

HOURS: 18 hours and 15 minutes per week, Monday & Tuesday 8.45am to 3.30pm and Wednesday 8.45am to 3.00pm, term-time only, plus 5 training days pro rata. 

SALARY: £23953.00 - £26446.00 gross pa (£12.42 - £13.71 per hour), pro rata for part-time, term-time. Starting salary equates to £10150.86 gross pa.

St Bartholomew's School was founded in 1466 and is proud of its ancient tradition.  It is now an 11-18 comprehensive school of over 1975 students with a Sixth Form of 625, serving Newbury and a wide area of West Berkshire and the Hampshire/Wiltshire borders, with modern buildings and outstanding facilities.
