School Games Organiser and School Sport Coordinator

Beacon Academy is looking to appoint a School Games Organiser and School Sport Coordinator. We are looking for a professional and self-motivated individual, with excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible. 

The role will involve organising and ensuring successful games events by engaging and involving local schools. The successful candidate will have a teaching or sports development background and will liaise with the PE department of Beacon Academy and other schools and community organisations to develop and deliver a programme of activities. Additional contracted hours available for the right candidate to lead our new Duke of Edinburgh Award. This is preferred but not essential. 

We are a split-site, rural, mixed 11-18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 1300 students, including over 250 students in our Sixth Form. We are situated centrally in Crowborough, on the outskirts of the Ashdown Forest, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are close to Tunbridge Wells and the South Coast.

The post is for 30 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, term time only. You will need to work a full day on a Wednesday, but the other working days and hours are flexible. This role is paid on Single Scale Grade 10 which is currently £28,238 - £30,502 full time equivalent. 

Additional paid hours by negotiation during evenings, weekends and in school holidays will be available as required to fulfil role. The sustainability of the post beyond the end of the fixed-term will depend on the success of funding, fund raising & income generation, which is one of the responsibilities of the post.
