Hours of work Five days per week; 40 hours per week
(typically from 8.30am to 5.30pm, excluding a one hour break)
The hours may be negotiable.
42 weeks a year (extended term time).
Initially a one year appointment
The school is looking to appoint a Librarian working five days per week (full time is 40 hours per week, excluding a lunch break) in St Philip’s Library at the heart of the school, from September 2018, or sooner if possible. We are looking to appoint a full time librarian; however, a part-time position could be discussed for a suitable candidate.
The post is initially for one year, with the possibility of it being extended. Ideally, the successful candidate might have experience of school teaching, possibly being a retired teacher or someone who has taken a break from teaching. Duties include managing book stock through Eclipse, a library book management system, and assisting pupils in the selection of books. St Philip’s Library is used by sixth form pupils throughout the day for private study which means supervision of sixth form pupils and working closely with the staff responsible for them are an important part of the Librarian's duties.
Applicants must complete an application form which, along with further details, can be found on the school website www.londonoratory.org/vacancies.
Application forms should be submitted to the Procurator by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) by 9am on Wednesday 20th June. Interviews are scheduled to take place during the week beginning 25th June.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
