Part time School nurse required to work 30 hours per week, term-time only in the school’s medical centre, from April 2018.
The Royal Alexandra and Albert school is a co-educational state boarding school with students ranging from the ages of 7-18. The Health Centre is an 11 bedded unit staffed 24 hours a day during term time. Duties will be on a rota including some on call nights (from home), so the candidate would need to live locally.
What we're looking for
The candidate will need to be an RGN, ideally with experience working with children, A&E/minor injuries/child mental health. Previous experience in a school is desirable, but not essential.
Pay will be on level 5/6 according to the NMC pay scales.
Knowledge/Qualifications: Professional nursing qualification - Registered General Nurse with relevant post registration experience. Knowledge and experience of providing 1st aid and the care of children with chronic illnesses.
Communication: clear, concise, timely and appropriate oral and written communication.
Sensitivity: listens well and understands others’ needs and perspectives
Self Motivation: meets objectives on own initiative; committed to continuous self-development; willingness to attend appropriate on-going training/updating.
