16.5 hours per week (Monday 8.15 - 2.15, Tuesday 8.15 - 2.15 and Friday 11.30 - 5.30)

36 weeks per annum plus rostered Saturday sports cover during the autumn term

King Edward VI School is a thriving co-educational 11-18 day school looking to recruit a qualified nurse to provide medical care to our 960 pupils. You must be an excellent communicator, effective at building relationships and have a warm, approachable and calm manner.

As a member of our small team, you will provide to our school community a clinically effective, high quality service of nursing care, including First Aid, welfare and health information. Two years minimum qualified experience is essential; experience of working with children and families in a community setting and experience of A&E/minor injuries is desirable. 

The successful candidate will support the leadership team in their pastoral duty of care by dealing with all aspects of medical care and developing positive attitudes to health matters for our school community. 

For this role, throughout the year there will be approximately 21 hours relating to the Saturday fixtures plus a further 20 hours relating to providing cover as required.

King Edward VI School is a leading HMC Independent day school for children aged 11 – 18. King Edward’s is a school with a long and distinguished history and it has been at the heart of Southampton for over 460 years. The School has occupied 4 different sites, relocating to the purpose built site on Hill Lane in 1938. It became fully independent in 1979 and co-educational in 1994.
