Job/Person Summary

Are you looking to join an inspirational and motivated team? We have a fantastic opportunity for a School Office Administrator to join our school on a temporary contract to cover maternity leave.  This role would suit a someone who has experience of working in an administration role, is flexible and adaptable, has a professional manner and is confident in dealing with the general public. 

We are looking for an efficient and enthusiastic member of staff to join our administration team in the main school office. You will be working from 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday during term time and on staff training days. We are looking for someone who will make visitors welcome and provide an excellent service to staff and families. You will need to understand the need for confidentiality, as well as managing your workload in a busy office environment.

You would thrive at Edith Moorhouse if you are you a person who is able to:

  • Act as first point of contact for parents, visitors and contractors
  • Maintain a calm, friendly and professional manner at all times
  • Work appropriately and confidentially within the framework of the school’s policies and procedures (child protection, safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety and GDPR)
  • Produce and maintain registers, evacuation reports and other associated documents.
  • Generate letters, emails, SMS and newsletters 
  • Be responsible for maintaining the school website, adding documents / news and other information as required
  • Ensure that all pupil records are accurate and up to date including admissions and leavers
  • Be responsible for undertaking a variety of general administration to support the school’s Extended Care facility (Breakfast Club and Star Club) 
  • Organise and book external and internal activity clubs
  • Organise school trip bookings and administration 
  • Support the Office Manager to organise the day to day administration of childcare vouchers and parent pay
  • Arrange and organise visits from the school nurse and other outside agencies when needed

Our School

Welcome to Edith Moorhouse Primary School

We are a popular primary school in the Oxfordshire town of Carterton. We currently have just about 300 pupils, with about one third of those pupils coming from Service Families with one or more parent serving at RAF Brize Norton.

In April 2017 we converted to academy status as part of the River Learning Trust.

We are proud of our caring and nurturing approach to education and our school ethos is based on our Core Values. Visitors to our school comment that there is a calm and industrious atmosphere and that the children are polite and respectful. All pupils, staff, parents, governors and members of our local community feel listened to and contribute to our strong school community.
