We are currently recruiting for an experience School Office Manager to join us at Collingwood School and Nursery. 

We are looking for a well organised, dedicated individual with an eye for detail. This position would suit an experienced School administrator or possibly someone looking with an administration background looking for their first role in a school.  

Collingwood School is a co-educational independent school for children aged 2 years - 11 years, which provides a broad and balanced education within a unique setting. It offers an individually focused education in a friendly environment, promoting excellence in learning and encouraging exceptional behaviour. It is a truly inclusive school with a unique family feel and offers small classes, dedicated and enthusiastic teachers and experiences catered to the needs and interests of every child. The school has a strong family atmosphere and prepares pupils exceptionally well for schools of their choice at age 11+. 

As the School Office Manager, you will have a wide-ranging role. You will be involved in every area of the school including admissions, finance, health and safety, administration as well as the reception. Each important area will enable you to play a key role in the continued excellence at Collingwood School. 

We are looking for a friendly, people person who will be able to welcome parents, pupils and member of the public when needed to Collingwood School. You will be fully trained and welcomed into our friendly school. 

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following;

• Liaising with parents, carers, teachers and member of the public. Responding and assisting with requests as they arise.

• Being the man point of contact at the school, responding in a friendly professional manner. 

• Provide administrative support to the Headteacher and other school staff as requested.

• Attending and organising school events and meetings.

• Keeping pupil record up to date including admissions, attendance and census details.

Collingwood deliberately remains small to foster the friendly and caring atmosphere that is so highly valued by all. Currently we have over 17 extra activities taking place every week including chess, football and music.  We also offer a supervised after school aftercare session each night from 3.30 to 6.30 for all children and a pre-school breakfast club.

Our school has a first-class academic record and we are justifiably proud of our pupil’s outstanding successes in examinations for entry into the local independent and grammar school. There are no formal entry examinations into either the Pre-Prep or Prep Departments since we choose to provide a non-selective environment where all skills and talents can be valued.  As part of our entrance procedure we like to invite prospective pupils to join us for a day in their appropriate class, during which subject teachers assess the student unobtrusively to determine his/her academic level and any particular educational needs.
