Description | Permanent Part-time School Officer - Hospitality and Food Technology position at St Clare's High School, Taree. Within a contemporary school learning environment, this role will assist the Food Technology, Hospitality and Textiles teachers in the smooth and efficient running of the school. |

Position Requirements | The position is responsible for: • Preparing practical and demonstration classes for Food Technology, Hospitality and Textiles. • Ensuring the general cleanliness, tidiness and smooth operation of the kitchen on a daily basis. • Maintaining equipment, resources and accurate kitchen documentation for the Food and Hospitality faculties. • Learn and be willing to complete food menu calculations. Ordering, monitoring and controlling stock plus undertake buying for the sections. • Use of computer-based information sources to manage ordering, stock control and WHS requirements. Essential Criteria | • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school •Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate with school staff, students and the community •Demonstrate an innovative and agile mindset that supports and enhances a culture of continuous improvement within the school environment •Demonstrated knowledge of current food safety practices and standards. •Ability to maintain equipment, resources and accurate kitchen documentation for Food Technology and Hospitality. •Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe working environment •Demonstrated experience in food handling and preparation The applicant must provide evidence of the following: •Current Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC)number •Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or equivalent •CPR + Anaphylaxis certificate or willingness to obtain. |

St Clare’s High School is a mixed, secondary, independent, mainstream, Roman Catholic high school in Taree, New South Wales. The school has approximately 740 pupils enrolled and caters to students between Year 7 and Year 12.
St Clare’s High School was founded in 1926, overseen by the Sisters of St Joseph, Lochinvar, and initially only catered to secondary school students. Due to its growing student population it opened a new secondary school, Rosary High, in 1962. A third building was built on the present site and was called Taree Catholic High School. In 1986, the school was renamed St Clare’s High School.

Facilities at Clare's include a learning centre, covered outdoor learning area and basketball courts. The school puts technology first with internet access and computers a must-have.
Curriculum
The curriculum prepares pupils for the award of the Record of School Achievement and the Higher School Certificate according to regulations outlined by the BOASTES. R.E. is compulsory for all years and is supplemented by the key learning areas: English, maths, science, HSIE, technology, languages and P.E. In Year 11 and 12, pupils work toward their HSC examination while VET courses are also offered. Extra-curriculars include choir, band, sports and the creative and performing arts.
