We are seeking a welcoming, collaborative and professional School Officer - Student Reception and Administration to join our team.
This position is the first point of call for students requiring administrative assistance or in need of first aid. The management of student attendance, late arrivals and early departures (role marking and maintenance of attendance records) is also a primary responsibility of the role.
Providing students with basic first aid and supervision of sick bay is also an important part of this role.
The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff members and parents in an environment where sound judgement, confidentiality and good decision making is important.
Duties include:
• Recording student attendance and absence records
• Process student late arrivals and early departures
• Student reception duties
• Attend to students requiring sick bay and first aid
• Facilitate announcements over the College PA system
• Organise the College outgoing mail
• Provide backup for the College Receptionist during breaks etc.
Student Services duties that include:
• Lost property
• Complete and lodge Federal and State Government returns
• Take student photographs & order initial/replacement Student ID cards
• Maintain the Items Borrowed Register
• Collate House Point forms approved by Administration
• Train/bus bookings for excursions/sport and general transport arrangements
• Complete WHS incident forms involving students
• End of year and beginning of year processes
• Maintenance and filing of confidential student records
Qualifications and experience:
• Ideally the applicant will have experience in a Secondary College, particularly in a Student Services environment
• Knowledge of the Student Information System (E Minerva) would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skills particularly when dealing with students and parents
• The ability to manage information in a very confidential environment is a necessity
• Good time management skills and an ability to multi task
• A current first aid certificate is also a distinct advantage.
Please note: The successful candidate will be expected to gain a first aid certificate as a matter of priority if they do not currently possess one.
This is a busy and sometimes challenging role that is pivotal to the welfare of students within the College. We are ideally seeking applications that clearly demonstrate a passion for providing outstanding administrative services to students, staff and parents in a busy school environment.
To be successful in this role you will:
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: 38 hours per week 7.30am-3.30pm Mon - Fri
Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 3 - $29.77ph
Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
