This is an exciting role to help launch a new RAF Cadets force at one of London's highest achieving comprehensive schools. The School has just launched its first CCF cohort in its 150 year history, and we are looking to have an experienced School Staff Instructor to help lead this project, as well as oversee the running of Duke of Edinburgh. There are be 22 cadets in the first cohort (all aged 13 to 14), and the school is looking to expand on this number each year to have a sustained and successful Cadet Force. The unit will parade once a week (Thursday 3:30pm until 5pm) and is supported by a number of experienced volunteer teachers. The school is very enthusiastic about the prospect of joining the hundreds of other schools with Cadet Forces, and the Senior Leadership team are supportive and proactive in helping to get it started.

Consistently outstanding results of the students place Central Foundation Boys’ School among the top performing schools in the country. In 2017, the School’s Progress 8 was 0.77 with 87% of students achieving a grade A*-C (4-9) in both English and Maths. The School’s aim, however, is to provide its students not only with the top quality academic provision but also with an exciting and inspiring outdoor education.

The behaviour of students is outstanding and the disciplined environment allows the teachers to focus on delivering great academic outcomes.

We are very ambitious in our aim to provide the best possible opportunities for our students. We set high standards for all professionals working at the school but we also provide a very strong net of support for both new and existing colleagues.

Central Foundation is:
• an outstanding school (Ofsted, February 2015)
• a school that is situated in a vibrant multi-cultural environment next to the ‘silicon roundabout’ on the edge of the City of London and with excellent transport links

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check.
