McAuley College is seeking an appropriately qualified and experienced professional for the role of School Officer to work as our foundation Science Laboratory Technician (School Officer Level 4). The position will initially be 6 hours per week across 2020, with the working of these hours negotiated to best suit the successful applicant. McAuley College is a new school and in 2020 will have approximately 200 students enrolled across Years 7 to 10. It is anticipated this inaugural role will grow over the next few years. The successful applicant will be required to work across the typical duties and skills as outlined in the attached Position Description and Duty Statement. They would be expected to hold relevant tertiary qualification at a certificate level or have similar experience necessary to carry out the duties successfully. Prior to commencing, the appointed person will require a Working with Young People Blue Card and will need to complete a number of mandatory on-line training packages. First Aid qualifications are desirable. The successful applicant will be part of a dynamic and committed foundation staff. McAuley College is a Brisbane Catholic Education master-planned secondary co-educational College situated in Beaudesert in the heart of the Scenic Rim.  McAuley College opened with Year 7 in 2017 and will expand each year until our first Year 12 students graduate in 2022.  The College has a vision for learning that is contemporary and innovative, whilst also encouraging our students to be life-giving through an active social justice program and appreciation of their ecological footprint. Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   Level 4 Step 1 - $29.93 hourly rate

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
