Job overview

The Role

Are you interested in teaching Science in a school where behaviour is described as “outstanding” by Ofsted and our Science department is highly successful and supportive?

What we want from you

For January 2018 the Governors require a permanent, full-time Teacher of Science who will:

• be well qualified, enthusiastic and innovative in their teaching

• be able to teach students from 11 – 19, including A Level teaching available to those with suitable experience

• be passionate about their subject and able to enthuse students

• be a team player and able to work under pressure

Why work for us

An excellent induction programme is offered for all new staff, including NQTs, from whom we welcome applications, and who will receive a bespoke programme of professional development.  Applications are welcomed from non-Catholics willing to support our Catholic ethos.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a school where students are hardworking and have a positive attitude to learning and in a Science department where the teachers are experienced, knowledgeable, friendly and supportive.

The School

St. Francis of Assisi is a highly successful, over-subscribed school where staff and students feel happy and safe and where teachers and learners have a close working relationship.  This creates strong support for students to achieve their ambitions and aspirations.

St. Francis of Assisi has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS/Criminal Records check.

Application Process

Further details and application forms are available from our website: www.stfrancis.cc

Interviews: to be arranged ASAP if applications are suitable. Any queries, please contact Miss McCourt at kmccourt@stfrancis.cc.
