The school is looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic individual to the position of Science Technician. The successful applicant will report to our Senior Science Technician and will provide the technical support needed to ensure that the Science department continues to deliver high quality teaching to students. The position is for 25 hours / week, term-time only.
Balshaw's CE High School is an outstanding Voluntary Controlled Church of England High School in Leyland. It is the school of choice for parents in the area with a very proud history stretching back over 235 years and is heavily oversubscribed with more than 900 students on roll. As well as outstanding outcomes in D&T and STEM subjects Balshaw’s also has pride in its sporting and arts achievements boasting a number of successful and famous alumni. The school has long standing links with the Diocese and has a strong Christian ethos. It is said at Balshaw’s that “Once a Balshavian, always a Balshavian.” This is very true – a number of staff were previously students of the school and there is a very small turnover of staff either through retirement or promotion. We hope that when you visit our school you will get a strong sense of the family values that underpin what we do.
As a member of our Science department you will have good interpersonal skills, be flexible and adaptable. You will be a team player with a ‘can do’ approach to work and a good sense of humour.
The closing date is midnight on Thursday 20th September.
Shortlisting will take place on Friday 21st September, and interviews are scheduled to take place on Wednesday 26th September.
Please note that the school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
