We have a large, thriving Science department, in which students in all year groups enjoy learning through practical work thanks to the current team of technicians. 

We wish to appoint a Science Technician to join the team for 37 hours per week, term-time only + 1 INSET Day.  We are interested in applicants who are keen to work in a school environment and who are willing to learn. Any relevant experience would be advantageous but a background in Science is not required and a full programme of training will be available. 

Outline of tasks include: 

  • assist in preparation of practical resources and textbooks for classroom teaching
  • clean, wash, organise and repair classroom equipment
  • assist with stock-taking and ongoing maintenance of apparatus and equipment
  • work to excellent standards of health and safety, according to relevant policies and procedure
  • provide administrative assistance to teaching staff

The position is for 37 hours per week, term-time only plus one training day. It is a Grade 5 post (points 5 to 7) which attracts a salary of £16,453 - £17,117 pro rata per annum (depending on experience and working hours)
