Grade B+ – Salary Points 3 - 4 

Actual Salary per annum £15,676 - £15,990 per annum (£18,065- £18,426 per annum full time equivalent)

Term Time Only plus 5 days - 37 hours per week 

Nunthorpe Academy is a very popular co-educational 11-19 comprehensive converter Academy with approximately 1550 students on roll - judged to be GOOD – and in ALL aspects - by OFSTED in March 2019

The Candidate

We require an energetic, inspirational and talented person with a passion for the education of students across the whole 11 – 19 age and ability range. The successful candidate will:

• Prepare, deliver and clear away equipment and resources for lessons as requested by teachers, focusing primarily on supporting Biology teachers.

• Maintain Faculty laboratories, equipment and resources  in an excellent working condition

• Notify problems with equipment and laboratories to line managers promptly

• Create and maintain all  faculty equipment and resources records 

• Assist with, and sometimes lead, practical demonstrations for students 

• Train faculty teaching staff in the use of resources and equipment 

• Take into consideration all Health and Safety aspects when working and remain trained in all relevant H&S qualifications for the role

• Notify problems with equipment and laboratories to line managers promptly

• Create and maintain all  faculty equipment and resources records 

• Assist with, and sometimes lead, practical demonstrations for students 

• Train faculty teaching staff in the use of resources and equipment 

• Take into consideration all Health and Safety aspects when working and remain trained in all relevant H&S qualifications for the role

  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade B in Mathematics, Science and English, are a minimum qualification requirement for this post.
  • To be calm, efficient, and highly organised, with the flexibility to work with other faculties on occasion across our school is essential

Nunthorpe Academy is part of Nunthorpe Multi Academy Trust (NMAT). 

Nunthorpe Academy is a mainstream, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough, and has over 1600 students.
