Job overview

Thank you for your interest in the role of Seclusion Officer at Ellis Guilford School.

This is a key role within our school and we are looking for a passionate and professional individual to support our children by being responsible for the coordination and the operation of the school’s seclusion facility.

You will be responsible for leading the administration in relation to seclusions and detentions and will ensure that students can access appropriate work when in the seclusion facility.

The successful candidate will be expected to promote good behaviour across the school and provide pastoral support to students where appropriate.

You will be joining a dynamic and vibrant team who are committed to improving the lives of young people.

Ellis Guilford became part of the Creative Education Trust (CET) in November 2018. CET has a strong record of educational improvement as well as providing a varied diet of curriculum and enrichment opportunities by introducing pupils to professionals who are the best in their specialist field whether it be composers, architects, designers or singers. By seeing the best, pupils are inspired and become ambitious to follow careers they may not have considered before.

Our aim is to prepare our pupils to be good citizens of the future and to have the ambition and courage to exceed. If you share our desire to change the lives of young people, we would very much like to hear from you.

If you'd like to discuss the role further please contact our Head of HR & Operations, Catherine Gordon catherine.gordon@creativeeducationtrust.org.uk

We are an 11-16 school with over 1300 pupils on roll.

We have three Core Values that we expect our students to demonstrate:

  • Equality – give everyone a chance – to belong and succeed
  • Integrity – do the right thing – with passion, with purpose
  • Ambition – work hard, aim high – now and for the future

We aim to prepare all our pupils to be good citizens of the future. Ellis Guilford has hard working and caring staff who support pupils through engaging lessons, excellent pastoral care and a wide range of enrichment and extra curricular activities.

We very much value positive relationships with families as, together, we can make a real difference to the lives of our young people.

We joined the Creative Education Trust on 1st November 2018. CET have an excellent track record in supporting schools and we hope that this partnership will enable us to drive improvements and secure even better student progress and outcomes.
