Thomas Hepburn Community Academy, a Northern Education Trust Academy, are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational full-time Second in Maths.
The successful candidate must be an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to inspire students and encourage a passion for learning. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will together with members of the Maths department; maintain a relentless focus on teaching and learning and raising achievement.
The post will require the candidate to teach across key stages 3 and 4 whilst assisting leading a developing department. We welcome applications from colleagues who wish to work as part of a team and who seek to contribute actively to the promotion of achievement throughout the Academy.
Applicants must submit a Northern Education Trust application form. Completed application forms and covering letter (of no more than 2 sides of A4) must be submitted by 9:00am on Monday 4th December 2017.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on 7th December 2017.

Thomas Hepburn Community Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in Tyne and Wear serving students from the age of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Gateshead has approximately 477 students on record. Thomas Hepburn Community Academy is part of the Northern Education Trust – a multi-academy trust.
Formerly Thomas Hepburn Community School, Thomas Hepburn Community Academy converted to academy status in 2013. The school was established in 1990.

Thomas Hepburn Community Academy’s vision is ensure that all students and adults show consideration, courtesy and respect to each other at all times. The secondary school focuses on making sure that the welfare of all students is prioritised and promotes a supportive and caring environment where individuals are treated equally. Pupils are encouraged to work to the best of their ability and achieve to the highest of their capabilities. Extra-curricular activities are organised for all year groups, allowing for students to expand their interests and meet new friends outside the classroom – developing their social skills. Thomas Hepburn Community Academy wants to prepare students for the future and work placements are part of the curriculum in Year 10 – allowing for individuals to get a taster into the world of work and develop experience to land them in good stead for the future.
