We wish to appoint an outstanding teacher with leadership qualities to assist in the leadership of a very successful Science Faculty. The successful candidate will teach as part of a strong team delivering both GCSE Science courses and A Level Chemistry. The successful candidate will assist in leading an outstanding department where progress and attainment are consistently above average.
We are looking for a teacher/leader with infectious enthusiasm, who is able to communicate clearly, is sensitive to the needs of young adults and can demonstrate initiative and vision in developing the quality of teaching and learning and building on the existing excellent outcomes for our students. We expect the person to take specific responsibilities within the Science Faculty and to assist the Head of Faculty on further developing the quality of teaching and learning and building on the existing excellent outcomes for students.
Alleyne’s Academy is a popular 13-18 comprehensive school judged “Good” by Ofsted in April 2016. The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching.

On the day of interview candidates will be expected to teach a 1 hour lesson to a year 9 class (mixed ability) in a school laboratory. This lesson should be based on the topic of graphite and diamond.
