Secondary Deputy Head - Academic

Raffles International School, Umm Sequeim is looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Deputy Head (Academic) from August 2022. RIS follows the UK National Curriculum and maintains a strong focus on academic achievement and pupil wellbeing. The school has recently been judged as 'Outstanding' by British Schools Overseas, quality assured by OFSTED. 

This is a senior leadership role with some teaching time allocated. 

Applications for this position are invited from school leaders/teachers with the following:

• A passion for teaching and learning.

• Previous experience of  senior or middle leadership in a high performing school.

• Bachelor’s Degree  plus PGCE with QTS or equivalent. Further post-graduate qualifications would be a distinct advantage.

• A portfolio of excellence,  demonstrating significant impact on pupil attainment and ptogress, curriculum development and teaching and learning in Secondary.

• A strong understanding of best practice in safeguarding, child protection and inclusive education.

• English as a first language.

• A commitment to creative and imaginative teaching where the progress of every learner is valued and maintained.
