The school meets the needs of young people with social and emotional difficulties, though our students may face additional challenges and diagnoses including ADHD, ASC, SpLD, MLD, OCD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome or a variety of other conditions.

We are part of the Acorn Care and Education Group, the second largest private sector provider of special needs education in the country operating 19 schools for children and young people who have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism.

An enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of English is required for our secondary department.  You will plan and deliver engaging lessons to small groups of KS3 and KS4 students, ensuring they make good or outstanding progress. You will develop literacy skills and help students gain appropriate qualifications, including GCSE.  The successful candidate will have good knowledge of the range of qualifications available within English and the drive and ambition to ensure each individual student fulfils their potential.  Experience of delivering GCSE would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be a highly committed team player with the resilience, energy and passion to develop the English curriculum in our forward-looking school. Applicants must be willing to lead by example and play a full part in the school’s pastoral care and all-inclusive ethos. For the right candidate, there will be opportunities to develop your role and interests, while being supported with continuing professional development. This position is perfect for a teacher who is committed, enthusiastic and has a passion for ensuring young people enjoy their learning and time in school.

Reddish Hall School is a co-educational school catering for pupils aged 5-18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour- all of our young people have an Education Health Care Plan. The school accepts pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs, though they may face additional challenges and diagnoses including ADHD, Asperger’s, SpLD, MLD, OCD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome or a variety of other conditions. Additionally, many of our pupils have serious social issues and very difficult home lives resulting in complex emotional difficulties.

All pupils attending Reddish Hall School have individual needs that have proved too complex to be addressed within a mainstream setting. The school provides effective support and a suitably differentiated curriculum, enabling them to progress and succeed to the best of their ability.

The aims and values of the school emphasise a commitment to provide a high quality provision for all our pupils.
