Facilities

Saint Mary’s Catholic College is a well-resourced learning environment that has had significant recent facility modifications and improvements. There is a new multi-purpose sports centre, a new secondary school block and new music rooms, which have now been added to the schools already impressive facilities profile. The school supports teaching and learning programs with a variety of technological resources, including a school-wide wireless network.

Curriculum

Saint Mary’s Catholic College Prep curriculum focuses on establishing an environment that fosters a love of learning. This is achieved through the individual attention given to the specific needs of all children and the nature of their learning.

At Saint Mary’s College, students in prep to Year 6 are challenged to develop a love of learning through exploring learning experiences based on the nine key learning areas of which literacy and numeracy are the main focus.

The curriculum in Year 7 to Year 10 seeks to recognise and cater for the different stages of development students are experiencing. The emphasis is for students to achieve the best they are capable of, while being nurtured and developed as a whole person.

Students moving into the senior phase of learning are offered a wide range of subject choices and access to an outstanding Vocational Education program. The senior program is designed to allow students to foster their personal talents while achieving high academic results or to develop skills in practical subjects. The program is designed to enable students to make suitable choices from the multiple pathways available beyond school.

School ethos

Saint Mary’s Catholic College seeks to be a peaceful, caring and friendly learning community, where people are welcomed and encouraged to grow whilst proclaiming gospel values through all aspects of college life.
