Lancashire County Council School Improvement Service are seeking to appoint a Secondary Science Consultant to join our Secondary Consultant Team from 1 September 2018. This is a rare chance to join an established school improvement team on a full time and permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic leaders of secondary Science to join an experienced and forward thinking team of professionals. The successful candidate will have responsibility for raising standards in Science within the Local Authority. This will include delivering flexible packages of training at LA and school level; in school support for secondary Science departments and LA level project lead. A key additional aspect of this role will be to support the development of Learning and Teaching on a whole school level. The successful applicant will be deployed to support schools across the Local Authority area and will be expected to spend the majority of time supporting in schools.

The successful applicant will be a qualified teacher, with a substantial number of years successful teaching experience. It is essential that applicants have both experience of middle leadership in secondary Science and also have held whole school responsibilities for learning and teaching as part of a senior leadership team or extended senior leadership team.
