Job overview

Reddish Hall School is quickly gaining an enviable reputation for enabling pupils, who’ve struggled at previous schools, to succeed. Its modern, innovative approach combined with its historic setting ensures pupils learn in a calm and constructive atmosphere.

In November 2016 the school was judged by Ofsted as being outstanding in all areas. Due to our continued growth, we can now offer an exciting opportunity to join our fantastic team.

About the role

Working with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in your classes, ensuring the best opportunities for all. Our smaller class sizes mean you can focus on building a purposeful learning environment that meets individual educational needs of pupils, helping to narrow the gap for pupils who are behind where they should be.

Teachers at Reddish Hall are encouraged to take a creative approach, seeking ways to positively engage with and motivate pupils through lessons that promote learning and raise levels of attainment.

You will set a vision and targets for pupil success, and use your knowledge and expertise to monitor progress, give regular feedback and encouraging our young people to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.

The role is due to commence on 8th January 2018.

Who are we looking for?

A Qualified Teacher who can teach to GCSE level in their specialist subject, you will be motivated by your belief that every child can achieve and reach their potential. Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

We are looking for a Teacher who wants to spend time developing creative learning opportunities for the most reluctant and troubles learners.

If you are looking to join a dedicated team in a school that will welcome your ideas, we want to hear from you.

Acorn Care and Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children and young people in our care. Successful applicants will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Reddish Hall School is a co-educational school catering for pupils aged 5-18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour- all of our young people have an Education Health Care Plan. The school accepts pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs, though they may face additional challenges and diagnoses including ADHD, Asperger’s, SpLD, MLD, OCD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome or a variety of other conditions. Additionally, many of our pupils have serious social issues and very difficult home lives resulting in complex emotional difficulties.

All pupils attending Reddish Hall School have individual needs that have proved too complex to be addressed within a mainstream setting. The school provides effective support and a suitably differentiated curriculum, enabling them to progress and succeed to the best of their ability.

The aims and values of the school emphasise a commitment to provide a high quality provision for all our pupils.
