Star International School Mirdif is a bespoke British Curriculum School situated in the Mirdif Community of Dubai offering EYFS, Primary and Secondary Education. We are looking to appoint a Secondary Teacher of Performing Arts who has the enthusiasm, commitment and energy needed to work in a rapidly growing and improving school. The role would be from September 2021 


About The Post

Due to the continued expansion of the school, we require a teacher of Performing Arts to join our family at Star International School Mirdif.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative educator with a passion for the performing arts. The role will focus mainly on Drama and there will be some whole school responsibility for delivering school-wide productions. An ability to offer Music to KS3 level would be an added bonus but not essential for the role.

Alongside the day to day responsibilities of being a full-time classroom teacher you would be required to:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant teaching qualification: minimum of a BEd or BA/BSc + PGCE/QTS
  • Excellent working knowledge of the latest UK practice and the new National Curriculum of England 
  • Experience of teaching in a British school either internationally or the UK
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Familiarity with the national curriculum for England
  • Ability to teach Drama/Performing Arts to KS4 level


Desirable

  • 2 years of teaching experience - However, strong NQTs will be considered
  • Ability to offer Music as a second subject
  • Prior experience of delivering drama productions

Contracts are for two years in the first instance and include:
