Vision for Education are recruiting on behalf of a school in Leeds that are actively recruiting for a Social, Emotional and Mental Health support worker to start from September (or earlier) to work with their pupils that have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Issues and mild learning disabilities. The successful candidate will be tasked with working with small classes of between 3-6 pupils. The responsibilities of this role are as follows: supporting the class teacher to deliver work in accordance with the national curriculum, supporting the class teacher to manage behaviour, supporting pupils on a one to one basis, contributing to record keeping, liaising with parents and multidisciplinary teams and attending school trips/outings. To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have 6 months minimum experience working in a similar setting with young people that have mental health issues; this could be a similar school, residential care home, supported living etc.
