Smart Teachers is recruiting for a SEN English Teacher to join an outstanding independent special needs school in the Merton area of London. This full time SEN English Teacher role is for an April 2021 start and will be a temporary role. This role requires minimal lesson planning. The children at this school are primary aged. The school supports students through a language-based curriculum employing experienced teachers, teaching assistants and therapists.


The role 

• SEN English Teacher 

• Working with KS3 students

• There will also be some GCSE lessons

• Drama lessons x3 per week also 

• Minimal lesson planning required

• General in-class support provided

• All students here have speech, language, and communication needs

• The ideal SEN English teacher will have good behaviour management 

• School hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm

• Full time temporary position 

• Daily rate is £140+per day (PAYE)

• This SEN English Teacher is required for an ASAP start

Requirements 

To be considered for the SEN English teacher position, you will: 


• Experience working with children or adults with special needs

• The relevant teaching qualifications

• NQTs and/or OS-trained teachers are welcome to apply

• Have strong communication, literacy, and numeracy skills

• Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)

• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
