Vision for Education are working in partnership with a Special School in North Leeds that caters for pupils with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Global Development Delay. The school is looking to appoint a Teacher on a long term basis from September that understands and has experience of working with Key stage 4 pupils that are working to upper KS2 and lower KS3 levels.  The ideal candidate will be able to build relationships with pupils with learning disabilities, be empathetic and also able to cater to various types of Learning Disabilities other special educational needs. An advantage would be having experience of teaching the Primary Curriculum to Key Stage 2 level as the majority of pupils in this age group are working to that level or just above. 


What the successful candidate will need: 


  • Must hold QTS
  • Be resilient 
  • Be able to demonstrate empathy
  • Have a passion to change young people's lives 
  • Have experience teaching in a special school or pupils with additional needs
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS that is on the update service, or be willing to undergo one
  • Be Team Teach trained or be willing to attend out free two day Team Teach course
