The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are to hold QTS. 


Contract dates: September 2021


The role

The successful Teacher will be based in the Centre for higher ability visually impaired students. You will be working with a very small class teaching Humanities/Science/English. This is an ideal role for a mainstream Teacher who is looking to train as a VI Teacher.

The school are based in Wimbledon and boast state of the art facilities and resources, a large multi-disciplinary team with a wealth of healthcare and SEN classroom experience. SLT at this school prides themselves on their ability to provide excellent, tailored support to all students within their classrooms, and the excellent training opportunities they provide to all staff working at the school. Staff retainment, career progression and development are critically important to this school which is why training opportunities will periodically be provided through a member of staff’s tenure at the school.


Requirements

To be considered for the SEN Teacher position, you will:

• Hold an enhanced DBS 

• Previous experience teaching within a SEN secondary school setting working with students with a variety of needs.

• Experience working in a VI department ( not essential)

• Hold QTS


Other experience and qualifications preferable:

• Confidence in working with and communicating PECs & Makaton

• Team Teach qualified
