Full Time: 37.5 hours per week - Term Time Only

Working Hours: 08.30 – 16.00 Monday – Friday (term time only, permanent). 

Starting salary: £14,917.50 per annum

About us:

Pegasus School is an independent specialist day and residential school for young people aged 8 to 19 years with severe learning disabilities, autism and associated challenging behaviour. Many of our students also have mental health and therapy needs.

Students have personalised and individualized programmes, designed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to support the young person to make progress, develop skills and engage socially with others.

The Role:

We are seeking Teaching Assistants who have ideally achieved their Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma who would like to work in our unique and constantly developing environment.

The core purpose of this role is to support the teachers in delivering high quality education to the pupils at Pegasus School.

Additional duties include:

* preparation of resources, 

* setting up the classroom each day, 

* contributing to school displays 

* other general classroom duties as determined by the class teacher.

You will also provide support for students in all aspects of their education, care, health and well-being. 

You will also act as a keyworker for day pupils, ensuring good communication with families, attendance at appropriate meetings and contributing (verbally and in writing) to reports and record keeping.

You will need to demonstrate evidence of positive working in a multi-disciplinary environment and a supportive attitude to developing good team-working.

Due to our rural location access to own transport is essential.
