About the role: We are looking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to help support SEN schools within the Derby area. This role is ideal for those who have a passion for helping children with learning difficulties.
You will be working on a supply basis for a number of schools that are partnered with ABC Teachers. There is availability for both full time and part time requirements to suit your needs and this would be a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience for those considering a career in teaching.
With a multitude of schools and nurseries requiring Teaching Assistants, we cover a range of SEN needs of which SLD, PMLD and ASD are most common.
Being an SEN Teaching Assistant is a rewarding career in which you can help children reach their full potential. In order to be considered you will need to have the following attributes.
We require you to:
Have a school based reference within the last 2 years.
Possess Level 2 Teaching Assistant NVQ minimum.
Have Experience assisting children with SEN in either education or a care based role. Ideally with 1:1 experience as well.
Show excellent written & communication skills.
Ensure that every pupils needs are met and that you have the ability to adapt when needed.
Have the ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations.
Experience as a student scribe would be desirable though not essential.
