Lucas Vale Primary School is looking for an inspirational SENCo. Although we are ideally looking for an experienced SENCo, we are also happy to consider qualified teachers who are keen to move into this role. You will either have the SENCo qualification or be happy to work towards this.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Special Needs Leader who is committed to high standards of achievement for SEND pupils. This position is permanent.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the teaching staff in providing the highest standards of teaching for SEND pupils; monitoring the impact of the teaching of any interventions and monitoring the progress and attainment of all SEND pupils.

LUCAS VALE PRIMARY SCHOOL  

Lucas Vale is situated in Deptford off the Lewisham Way, between Lewisham College and Goldsmiths University. It is well served by a range of public transport including good bus services, London Underground (East London Line currently being rebuilt) and British Rail (New Cross and New Cross Gate Stations), the Docklands Light Railway (Deptford Bridge) and British Rail (St John’s Station). It is easily accessible from central London.    

Lucas Vale is a two form entry school- with two bulge year groups (currently year 2 and 5)-and a Nursery. The school is part of the Grinling Gibbons and Lucas Vale Federation, which is led by an exceptional and visionary consultant executive head teacher. Currently, the school is in partnership with The Fairlawn and Haseltine Federation, two outstanding schools. 

We believe children learn best when they are taken out of their comfort zones, not spoon fed the learning; use their higher order thinking skills and explore and action their learning. We endeavour to ensure that we are at the forefront of innovative learning experiences, ensuring we deliver a world class education for all children.
