The School

Providing academic excellence for almost 30 years, Horizon has established a rich tradition as a school that cares.  At Horizon, we develop our children into kind, creative, tolerant and passionate learners, who are given the opportunity to succeed today, whilst being prepared for the complexities of tomorrow.

We have challenging and rigorous academic expectations based on the National Curriculum for England, in an inclusive environment where barriers to learning are identified, appreciated and overcome together. We aim to develop the leaders of the future, by surrounding children with opportunities to innovate, critically reflect, collaborate and take ownership of their own learning processes and outcomes.

Horizon is a modern, forward-thinking primary school which embraces new opportunities within learning and teaching. Tradition and values drive our guiding principles, but it is a willingness to innovate which ensures the school continues to thrive.

Horizon English School

Founded in 1989, Horizon English School is a vibrant, outstanding international primary school of over 1,000 little learners, representing more than 50 nationalities, following the National Curriculum of England.  We are an accredited member of BSME (British Schools in the Middle East).

At Horizon, pupils are encouraged to take ownership and responsibility for their own learning, steering it in the direction of their choice, with facilitation from teachers. From FS1 to Year 6, children are presented with opportunities and challenges and are consulted about their learning consistently and continuously throughout their school career. Our learning is exciting and innovative, and children’s interests are at the heart of everything we do.

As well as our academic success, Horizon offers a wide and varied range of extracurricular activities for the children to immerse themselves in.   Our PE staff encourage children in a host of sporting activities; our latest success being overall winners at the 2019 BSME Primary Games, a three day competition covering five sporting disciplines – a very proud moment for the whole school.

The Horizon English School vision promotes a real community ethos and we have close links with charities in Dubai, which staff, parents and children love to support and be part of.
