Job overview

SENCo.

New school opening in September 2021.

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive Brand NEW secondary academy, based in Ealing. The school is looking to add a SENCo to its progressive and supportive SEN Department ideally starting in September 2021.

The role will include coordinating the delivery of SEN/D provision across the whole school. You will be innovative and will lead the SEN provision of the whole school supporting all learners to achieve to the best of their abilities. You'll lead from the front and will manage a dedicated and multi-disciplined SEND team at the school.

“We are a new secondary school in Acton opening in September 2021 to year 7 initially and growing each year. Our aim is to transform children’s lives through excellent education. Our teachers will be supported to uphold the very highest standards of behaviour through centralized systems, and to teach exceptional lessons through shared planning.

We are recruiting a founding team of exceptional staff to achieve our vision and work together to create a genuinely outstanding school. The SENCo will recruit, shape and lead our inclusion department and develop our whole-school approach to inclusion. We are looking to appoint a SENCo with sky-high expectations of what all children can achieve, regardless of barriers; someone who believes, as we do, that all children are entitled to access the full richness of a broad and often academic curriculum, and will thrive if given appropriate support to access and succeed in that curriculum. We will consider candidates who have not worked previously as a SENCo if they have experience working successfully to support pupils with special education needs.

The successful candidate will grow with our school: we will develop you, providing one-to-one support, coaching and access to extensive network training. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate on network-wide projects."

The school is offering:

• A super supportive and highly visible SLT team and Headteacher;

• on-going CPD with programmes of study such as NPQML and MA in Educational Leadership

• progression support throughout the school and wider group

• the chance to take on further responsibility such as TLR or Leadership roles in the future.

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• a relevant SEN coordination qualification

• experience of delivering SEN/D coordination across the whole school supporting secondary school learners

• a love and passion for education.
