SENDCO/Inclusion Teacher

Required from September 2018

Leadership Scale Point 5 to 9 (£43,454 to £47,967)

Do you have a proven track record of successful leadership? Are you known for your positivity and determination? Are you a solution focussed, creative thinker?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the school’s SEND and Inclusion Department which has just undergone a period of strategic change. We are looking for a leader with a clear vision and strong sense of moral purpose who is passionate about providing the very best teaching and learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom for our most vulnerable students.

You will be committed to improving not only students’ academic attainment but also their independence, behaviour, self-confidence and self-esteem.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will be advising on best practice in SEND education and will have responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of provision across the school.

Dedicated to developing staff, the provision of high quality teaching and learning will be at the heart of your practice.

Dragonfly Multi Academy Trust (MAT) incorporates Mendip Studio School, Writhlington School, a Sixth Form and Peasedown St John Primary School. With the exception of the Primary School, all are located on a large modern state of the art campus that benefits from exceptional media facilities, a 400-seat theatre and a Community Sports Centre. All students and teachers have their own iPad for use in school and at home to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

New staff ideas are encouraged and there are endless opportunities to lead and to contribute to its wide range of extra-curricular activities: a large Combined Cadet Force, international links with China, Tanzania & Rwanda that support the 14-19 curriculum and an internationally recognised orchid project.

If you would like to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking and supportive school environment, apply by 9.00 am, Monday 15 January 2018.

If you are selected for interview, you will be required to complete an online psychometric test (this will take approximately 30 minutes) prior to the interview day.
