Job overview

We are seeking  a successful leader with a track record of impact and raising standards who will champion best practice in SEND provision at our alternative provision academy. A leader who will be a determined advocate for all our vulnerable students, ensuring that the best possible support is offered to our students with SEND.

Please note this post is based in Stowmarket in Suffolk (and not at our site in Havering).

You will already have the National Award in Special Education Needs Co-ordination and be able to offer professional guidance to all our academy staff - ensuring we are using the best strategies for SEND pupils and securing high-quality teaching and learning. We can offer you a supportive and welcoming team of colleagues - all of whom are determined to work together to transform the lives of children and young people for whom traditional teaching methods have not worked.

Our provision in Stowmarket is growing and  we are increasing the specialist support we offer for children and young people aged 7 to 16 with ASD, SEMH and mild learning difficulty in Suffolk. Visit www.apsuffolk.oliveacademies.org.uk to find out more about our work.

Call Helen Everard on 01449 613931  to arrange a visit or to have a conversation about the role - and  find out more details in the downloadable job pack.

About Olive AP Academy - Havering

Olive Academies is a multi-academy trust with three alternative provision academies and an outreach service in London and east of England.  We work with pupils who are at risk of exclusion, those who have been permanently excluded from scholl and those who have medical needs.  Our aim is to transform the lives of children and young people for whom traditional teaching methods have not worked.  We help our pupils to develop their confidence, gain skills and reach their potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Olive AP Academy – Havering provides a broad curriculum to a diverse group of young people. We cater for up to 64 young people and children, aged between 11 and 16, who have experienced difficulty in learning for a variety of reasons. The academy also offers an intervention programme specifically for those young people at risk of permanent exclusion from their mainstream school.

Our academies are based in Hornchurch in Havering, Tilbury in Thurrock and Stowmarket in Suffolk.
