An inclusive, supportive 11-18 academy in Burnham, Buckinghamshire. With student well-being at the heart of all we do, we are committed to providing a personalized educational experience to our students. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, professional SENCo for September 2018 to cover maternity leave. The successful applicant will have experience of working with young people, and be familiar with behavioural strategies, and be resilient with excellent inter personal skills.

Burnham Park provides outstanding opportunities for SEND students. If you have the tenacity to use your leadership skills, creativity and understanding of child development and learning to further develop the SEN focus this may be the post you are looking for. You should be able to demonstrate your understanding and expertise in developing teaching and learning opportunities as well as the ways in which you would be able to lead the SEND team and support not just the students but also their families.

We are an E-ACT academy and proud to be part of a community that includes over 15,400 pupils and 2,300 teaching and non-teaching professionals across the country. E-ACT multi-academy trust is responsible for 25 academies across the length and breadth of England. Our academies can collaborate and share ideas with one another in ways that schools may not be able to. Most importantly, we all feel part of something much bigger as our responsibilities go far beyond the four walls of a single academy, and extend to people and their communities across the country.

About The E-ACT Burnham Park Academy

The E-ACT Burnham Park Academy is a mixed, non-denominational secondary academy school for pupils aged 1-19. It is located in Slough and Burnham, with the campus transcending Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. It has about 600 pupils.

The school is sponsored by E-ACT, formerly known as  EduTrust Academies Charitable Trust, which sponsors more than 20 academies and free schools in England.

The E-ACT Burnham Park Academy describes its vision as aiming to provide “a world class education that is unique and personalised”. The school is committed to delivering teaching that is inspirational, and which develops confident learners who are proud of their achievements and ready to take ownership of their learning. 

The school aims to achieve this by, among other things, encouraging every student to acquire the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to promote their full spiritual, moral, mental, cultural and physical development. It aims to give pupils a working atmosphere, where good relationships between staff and pupils contribute to an effective and enjoyable learning process.

The E-ACT values include a belief in upholding a values-based culture which “empowers all of our people to be the best they can be”.
