The Governors are seeking to appoint a Senior Finance Administrator to assist with the implementation of the school’s financial procedures.  Duties are wide-ranging and will include (amongst others): to assist with the preparation of the annual budget, to maintain the school’s accounting system and to undertake detailed monitoring of monthly expenditure.  In addition, this post encompasses the financial administration of the school fund, school trips and Gift Aid.

St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School is a small school with a distinctive Catholic ethos.  Students at the school are very well behaved and the school is a very pleasant working environment.  This is a relatively new post in the support staff structure of the school.  This person will work under the direction of the School Business Manager and will supervise any other staff within the finance team.  Experience in a financial role is desirable.  The appointed candidate will be flexible in her/his approach to the wide-range of work undertaken – and will be an intrinsic part of the support staff team.  The ability to manage a range of competing demands and to prioritise work is very important.  Computer skills are also required, as Word,  Excel and SIMS are used extensively in this role together with inhouse finance software. In addition, a very good level of both written and spoken English are essential.

Closing date: noon on 18th December - interviews will take place in early January.

Ofsted

“St Michael’s is an outstanding school. Standards are exceptionally high, amongst the highest found nationally, both at GCSE and A level, and continue to improve.  The [then-] headteacher and her deputy provide outstanding leadership. They, very ably supported by the senior leadership team, have a strong vision for the education of girls rooted in the Catholic faith, which contributes so much to the ethos of the school.”
