Job overview

The School Governors are seeking to appoint an experienced, confident, reliable, articulate and highly motivated person to work as the Academy’s Senior Finance Manager.  The person appointed must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, be able to work calmly and efficiently to meet deadlines and the demands of Governors, Senior Management, staff, parents, students and other outside agencies and to respond confidently and accurately under pressure.    The person appointed must have a detailed knowledge of Financial Accounting Software packages, preferably FMS, and a sound knowledge and experience of School Financial Accounting Procedures.  

To manage all aspects of financial controls and systems across the Academy with specific responsibility for compliance with the financial requirements of the Educations and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and the day to day oversight of all ordering, invoicing, banking and reconciliation procedures.  To take a highly proactive role in ensuring the regularity and propriety of all expenditure and ensuring value for money through a process of regular cost analysis and review of the Academy’s financial contracts and accounts.  To have a full oversight of the Finance Office to ensure the Finance Team supports staff in all resources and financial matters and providing a first class service to the Academy.
