About the Role

The Senior Manager of Early Learning, Pedagogy and Leadership is a key member of the ELC Team. They will be responsible for guiding professional learning for Directors and Early Learning Teachers, including Faith Formation, in collaboration with the General Manager of Early Learning and the Senior Manager of Early Learning Quality and Compliance.

The successful candidate may also be required to work across multiple ELCs and be the Person in Day-to-Day Charge (Reference ACECQA) of CE Early Learning Centres (ELCs) across Canberra.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and/or deliver professional learning for Directors, Educational Leaders, Teachers and Educators
  • Plan Director network meetings and Educational Leader meetings in collaboration with the General Manager of Early Learning
  • Coordinate communication with Directors in collaboration with the General Manager of Early Learning
  • Support preschool to deliver on requirements of the NQF, including National Quality Standards (NQS) and compliance with laws, regulations, approved learning frameworks and CE policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Support directors, teachers, and educators in planning and implementing high-quality, responsive early learning programs based on sound knowledge of early childhood development and educational principles to meet the needs of groups and individual children.
  • Support ELC Directors in enhancing, implementing, and regularly reviewing the preschool’s quality improvement plans.
  • Provide support, mentorship, and educational leadership for staff in order to enhance and develop their knowledge, skills, and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and NQS standards.
  • People, Human Resources, Planning and Management.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) qualifications.
  • Must hold a relevant Working with Children Registration.
  • Must have TQI Registration (or willingness to obtain).
  • An ability to step into a new setting and build relationships quickly with the children, staff and families
  • A thorough knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards.
  • Proven and effective leadership/management in the planning, implementation and evaluation of high-quality educational and care programs for groups of preschool-age children.
  • A proven capacity to provide inclusive programs based on the recorded observations and interpretation of children’s responses, needs and interests.
  • A sound ability to provide early childhood programs that have a commitment to the active involvement of families and the local community.
  • A genuine passion for mentoring and leading a team of educators.
