The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic development, commissioning and procurement of specialist provision for children and young people (0 to 25 years) with special educational needs and disabilities and to be responsible for the strategic framework for the delivery of relevant services and support to children, schools and families.
Excellent verbal and written communication, including report writing, excellent negotiation skills and an ability to influence outcomes, with reasoning, persuasion and tact is essential.
Good knowledge about the effective commissioning of services and specialist providers both from health and other partners based on local need and demand are crucial to this role.
The ability to lead on the development and implementation of strategies, policies and procedures that relate to the commissioning of services for SEND pupils/ young adults is a key component of this post.
