Description The role, Senior School Officer exists to provide:
• a reception service for phone and direct contact externally to and within the school
• general office administration including maintaining student records, typing and preparation of documents, ordering of school requisites and administrative support for staff
• administration of school financial accounts including student debtors, accounts receivable, reconciling accounts, BAS, supplier payments, maintaining budgets and preparation of reports
• support to the school principal
Position Requirements • support the ethos of Catholic education
• be able to fulfil the requirements of the Diocesan Faith Education Accreditation Policy
• minimum of Certificate III in Accounting / Business or equivalent
• evidence of strong performance and quality of work with previous employer(s)
• a clear understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
• proven knowledge and skills with MS Excel and accounting information systems
• strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• enthusiasm, proactivity and capacity to adapt
• ability to work in an environment with competing demands where tasks need to be prioritised
• ability to work effectively as part of a team
Essential Criteria • Your current Working With Children number must be recorded on your application
• Applicants will need to comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead (formerly FEA ) and will need to work towards Accreditation at Category A – Accreditation to work.
Desirable Criteria • minimum of two years relevant experience in finance / accounting

About St Kevin's Primary School

St Kevin's Primary School is an independent, mainstream, co-educational Catholic school in Cardiff, New South Wales and is a member of the Catholic system in the Dioceses of Maitland, Newcastle.

The school opened as St Joseph’s Primary School in 1917 with 70 pupils staffed by the Sisters of St Joseph. New buildings were erected in 1943 and extensions were added in 1969 and 1992. In 1989 the school had a name change to St Kevin’s in keeping with the other Parish buildings

The school has a vast playground for student interaction at lunch and breaks as well as allowing a multitude of choices for class sport and fitness. 

The school has close ties with the All Saints Blackbutt South Parish and hold regular school community liturgies and Masses in the St Kevin's Church.

Curriculum

Religious Education, literacy and numeracy and the development of the role of technology are the key focus of the curriculum. There are five mainstream classes plus an onsite Satellite Class, "ASPECT Class" catering for children in grades K-2 on the Autism Spectrum. Key Learning Areas include English, Mathematics, Human Society and its Environment (HSIE), Science and Technology, Creative Arts, and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE). 

Children regularly take an active role in school and parish liturgies.

The school's Mission statement states: ‘We, at St Kevin's, educate in the faith tradition of the Catholic Church, acknowledging the dignity and nurturing the potential of each person within the context of community.’ The school motto "Caritas" is a word which means sharing, caring, love.
