The School
The Workplace is a newly opened Alternative Provision (AP) Free School, focusing on founding principles of rigour, enterprise, industry and partnerships. The Workplace offers high quality vocational education in industry standard settings, alongside high quality delivery of core Maths, English and Science. The school offers full-time education to students who require a curriculum beyond the mainstream offer. The School is part of the SABDEN Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), a successful MAT specialising in Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and AP education.
The Trust
SABDEN MAT is an aspirational and supportive Trust, aiming to create a warm, caring, stable, supportive environment in which all staff and pupils feel safe. We are three special schools, a secure unit, a large countywide alternative provision, a vocational free school and one of five teaching schools within East Sussex. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement. Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure systems.
The Role
The Senior Teacher (Curriculum) is a new role, and associate SLT position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the line management of Vocational Instructors, and the performance of vocational areas. They will develop strong links between core and vocational subjects and will develop a robust Enterprise offer including the delivery of a Technical Award in Enterprise. The successful candidate will also take responsibility for elements of the industry, enterprise & partnerships school strategic plan including CEIAG, work experience and links with industry.
The Candidate
You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner, with experience of delivering or managing vocational qualifications (BTEC/IMI/VTCT). You will have a clear view of, and high value for the role CEIAG and an understanding of the Gatsby benchmarks for CEIAG. You will have an inclusive view of education, and be confident in developing whole school approaches.
