Job overview

Singing Teacher

Part-time, zero hours

Hourly rate: £39.10

Westminster Abbey is seeking a gifted and qualified musician to join its small and dedicated team of part-time chorister singing teachers. The singing teachers are members of the Abbey Music Department and work under the direction of Organist and Master of the Choristers James O’Donnell. They deliver weekly one-to-one singing lessons to the Abbey choristers (boys aged 8 to 13) and play a vital part in supporting their musical development and ensuring their vocal health and welfare.

The successful candidate will be an inspiring teacher with substantial relevant experience (ideally gained in the context of a professional cathedral or collegiate choir), an enthusiastic and positive demeanour, and a particular understanding of the multifarious aspects of cathedral choristership.

All applications must be submitted no later than noon on Tuesday 22 June 2021 via email: applications@westminster-abbey.org. CVs will not be accepted.

Interviews are expected to take place on Friday 9 July.

Westminster Abbey is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk. To prevent them from harm, we undertake appropriate checks on staff and volunteers and require them to complete relevant safeguarding training and an Enhanced DBS check.  Westminster Abbey is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
