The Holgate Academy are looking for an experienced and reliable minibus driver to transport students. As a member of the academy’s support staff team you will play an important ‘front of house’ role driving one of the school’s minibuses. The role will be combined with Site Assistant duties creating a full time, term time only role. We are looking for an experienced and reliable individual, we are also interested in hearing from you if you have transferable skills suitable for the combined role.

Your role will include:             

  • Holding a full UK driving license (clean) with a D1 category
  • Transporting students to the academy in support of the academy attendance strategy
  • Supporting academy trips and visits transporting students to and from events on an ad hoc basis
  • Driving, safely and diligently having care for passengers’ colleagues, other road users and the vehicle
  • Be a consistent positive role model and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues and students
  • The Site Assistant holds a key role in pro-actively maintaining the academy's building and facilities, and ensuring we provide a welcoming and safe environment for the whole school community.
  • The role will undertake a range of general caretaking duties, including security, porterage, maintenance, including painting, fixing and simple DIY tasks, and some cleaning of the academy site.
  • Under supervision, the role will also assist in ensuring the facilities function correctly and that health and safety matters are monitored and recorded.

A warm welcome to The Holgate Academy careers site. We are a large secondary academy for students aged 11-16 years based in Hucknall and, together with our partner academies, offer post 16 study at the Hucknall Sixth Form Centre.
