Job overview

Congleton Multi-Academy Trust (Cmat) is situated on the edge of Congleton in South East Cheshire, serving families from Congleton and parts of North Staffordshire.  It includes Congleton High School, Black Firs Primary School and Castle Primary School. Staff are expected to contribute to projects working with schools across the trust where required.

We wish to recruit a Sixth Form Progress Leader to join our team.  Main responsibilities will be to support the Assistant Leader of Post 16 to lead and guide sixth form students to enable them to effectively achieve their full potential and to become responsible, successful and confident citizens.  

Duties will be wide ranging and varied including: managing and organising the sixth form study programme in the study room; liaising with sixth form teams including subject Teachers and Form Tutors to ensure effective independent study skills; track and monitor student’s progress; manage student attendance; support students’ future aspirations; monitoring and supporting students’ pastoral/welfare needs and the administration support and management of information.  

This is a challenging and varied role.  It requires a commitment to young people and requires you to make the right decisions to provide students with the right support (academic, pastoral and learning materials/packages) to allow them to succeed to fulfil their future aspirations.  The ideal candidate will be passionate to work with KS5 students and able to build excellent relationships with them, regardless of their specific needs.   You will be educated to at least A Level Standard and ideally will have experience of working in an educational setting.

Congleton High School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy with a sixth form, located in Congleton, Cheshire. At its most recent inspection, there were 1,103 pupils aged 11-18 on the school roll, including 220 in the sixth form.

The town of Congleton has a population of 26,500 and is 21 miles south of Manchester.
