Sixth Form Tutors - One year fixed-term contract

Required for 4 September 2017 

30 hours/week, term time plus 10 days - salary £16,432.

This is a Church of England sponsored Academy seeking to recruit a Sixth Form tutor who will support Year 12 and 13 students to form good study habits, managing their workload, selecting appropriate university courses, identifying internships etc. Candidates should be committed to developing young people and have a high level of communication and organisation skills as well as a strong academic profile.

The post is suitable for gap year students or graduates considering a move into teaching. The ideal candidate is a positive, enthusiastic and pro-active individual who can be an excellent role model. Previous tutors have successfully moved on to Teach First and other careers.

The school specialises in the humanities and global citizenship, but also concentrates on RE, geography, maths and science. Enrichment activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, sports, music, drama, chess, debating and Latin are all available to foster greater talents in each child.
