Kosice International School (KEIS) is the first international school in Eastern Slovakia. Our school is an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) school offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) curriculum focusing on technology-enhanced learning. We are a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and are working towards full authorisation this summer. With significant growth in recent years, KEIS now serves children ages 3 to 15. Our programmes include the Early Years programme (ages 3-5), the PYP curriculum (ages 6-11), and our Middle School programme (ages 12-15). Due to this positive growth, we now require an experienced Spanish teacher in both PYP and MYP (Grades 3-10). This is an exciting opportunity for an IB educator to help pioneer an expanding school that will drive future educational progress in the Kosice region. Learn more about Kosice and KEIS here. 

Description of Position:

We are looking to employ a positive, passionate and motivated Spanish teacher to join our school for a full-time position. In collaboration with the PYP and MYP coordinator, you will be integral to building the aforementioned subject units and designing a meaningful curriculum that engages learners.  

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will:

  • Have relevant teaching qualifications and proven teaching experience in an IB MYP or PYP setting.
  • Have experience teaching Spanish Acquisition.
  • Possess knowledge of educational theories and the IB pedagogical framework.
  • Demonstrate strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
  • Model an inquiry approach to teaching and learning.
  • Have experience implementing technology into inquiry-based learning.
  • Enjoy teaching and working in an internationally-minded environment.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Hold an IB training certificate in Language Acquisition (preferable but not required).

Responsibilities:

Along with fulfilling full-time teaching requirements (max. 23 contact hours), responsibilities for this position include:

·       Documenting the inquiry, action, and reflection portions of each unit on Toddle 

·       Maintaining subject overviews for your taught subject(s)

·       Actively participating in a weekly individual collaborative planning meeting with the IB coordinator

·       Engaging in a horizontal/vertical weekly planning meeting with our colleagues

·       Performing duty care as outlined by the school’s duty schedule
